Built in Italy in 1992, the Island Sky recently underwent a complete refurbishment. The small vessel is incredibly sea worthy and offers passengers a elegant and intimate space that has character and charm.
Carrying just over 100 passengers, the Island Sky is one of the most recent additions to the Antarctica cruise calendar. Mainly offered on the express itineraries, the ship is the perfect size to navigate the smaller bays and inlets along the peninsula. The Island Sky is an extremely well equipped vessel for its small size, offering many facilities expedition type ships often don’t.
The ships public facilities include Bar, Elevator, Dining room, Fitness Center, Large lounge, Internet, Polar Library, Wifi, On board Doctor, excellent meals with free house wine.
There is ample deck space and the captain offers an open bridge policy so passengers can get the best views.
Cabin Facilities
Like the public areas, the cabins are modern, spacious and comfortable.
All cabins on board the Island Sky are outward facing with a view and come with private en suite facilities and flatscreen TV. Each cabin comes with two twin beds that can be reconfigured into a queen bed if desired. All cabins come with a nice sitting area, large wardrobes, vanity table and excellent storage space. A small refrigerator, personal safe, hair dryer and climate control is also provided in every cabin.
